A new beginning

These past couple of years have been interesting to say the least for the roller coaster of life that most of us deal with. I am not complaining, just thankful that even though we go through trials and even good times, that we have a God with us every step of the way.

One of my blessings that joined my life is a little boy, that I have been blessed to be taking care of. My two children are teenagers, so starting over with a new born has had its challenges but one’s that I am thankful for even now being he is two. On top of that I started another new journey at the same time, of putting myself through school. Through these couple years, God has very much taught me the lesson of trusting Him. Many times we get caught up in what we do not have or cannot do, that we forget that we have a God who can do all things.

Have you ever just sat there and thought about what you do have? When we actually take that time and look at all we have, we truly have more then we actually thought. I am not just talking about material items, but what we have through God. This week in school we are learning about the atonement of Jesus Christ, and the importance of it within a Christians life. I know that there are many who do not understand that the atonement is the catalyst for salvation.

What I mean by this is that Jesus Christ came to earth to be the sacrifice for our sins, so that we could be forgiven and live for eternity in Heaven with Him. The issue with that is that we cannot claim that gift as ours until we fully accept it. It is like getting a gift from someone, until we take that gift and use it, that gift does us no good. However, when we claim it and use it, we then have accepted it fully. Being saved is not done by some riddle or act of good behavior. We have to acknowledge that we are sinners and need Gods grace and forgiveness. If we cannot accept that in Genesis 3, that men sinned, and we have not changed yet, then the battle is already lost. Our sin nature is so strong that we cannot humanly stop it. So knowing this, God decided to make a way for us. In that choice, Jesus came to earth to become fully human in order to pay our debt for our sin. Sin as Proverbs 23:7 states clearly, is anything we may think, say, or do that is going against the will of God. So because of our sin nature, Jesus had to shed His blood to cover our sins.

So after accepting that one is a sinner, one must then totally accept that Jesus’ blood, atonement is ours to accept and claim 100% as well. This is a gift that is 100 % free, but we have to know we need God and then we have to also accept that Jesus died for our sins, and in that Jesus’ gift of eternal life is ours (Romans 6:23). This gift is also something each person individually has to accept, not one person can change another persons eternal destination, they have to fully be accountable as well.

This is the catalyst of our Christian faith, I am no one without Christ’s sacrifice, as I would have no purpose or direction in life that would mean anything, if I was not doing it for God. I owe God my every breath, and in that I completely understand that I am a sinner that needs saved, and I believe that Jesus’ sacrifice was for each one of us, but even if I was the only one, He still would have taken that step and sacrificed Himself to save me. In that I completely am humbled and will forever give my life to God.

What a blessing that God has given us, and I am so thankful that He provided a way for me.

Thank you for spending time with me today!

  1. […] Christ died for all sins it is up to us to accept the forgiveness (I talk further about this in The New Beginnings). But when God starts revealing those hurtful or prideful feelings, Do Not sweep under the rug. […]
