Struggles: Marriage

Marriage is a wonderful thing that God has given us to build and share our lives with someone that is special! To love unconditionally, to hold, to cherish, to nurture, to tend to, to help them through life. Not all couples agree with this but it is what God says! To have this kind of relationship is a blessing all in itself, if you dare challenge yourself to look at it in such a way!
Genesis 2:18 states that, “It is not good for a man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.” God decided to create wild animals and God had Adam name them, but not one of them was right for Adam. So the Lord put Adam into a deep sleep and formed a woman from the rib of Adam, and God brought Eve to Adam.  This shows that God knows we need someone to have companionship with, this is true for everyone, whether you want to agree or not. We all want to be able to visit and talk with someone, to share our lives joys, sorrows, and our desires. For most of us it is in marriage that we find that! Others, choose to not be married but to live our lives for the Lord and make our Heavenly Father our spouse/companion! Either way God gave Adam and Eve marriage as a gift, to love one another.  In the NLT Bible it gives 3 basic aspects of a marriage, and they are: 1: The man leaves his parents and, in a public act, promises himself to his wife; 2: The man and woman are joined together by taking responsibility for each others welfare and by loving there mate above all others; 3: The two are united into one in the intimacy and commitment of sexual union that is reserved for marriage. Strong marriages include all three of these aspects, and should not be taken lightly.
I want to emphasis a little more here on these subjects and make it very clear that in Gods Word it does not state anywhere that these are wrong. Tomorrow we will dig a little deeper. But for now, here are some scriptures to look up:

Genesis 2:18 , Genesis 2:22-24, Proverbs 18:22, Matthew 19:4-6, Mark 10:6-9, Ephesians 5:31, 1 Corinthians 7:1-16
